Lloyd Memorial (KY) star E.J. Walker has really seen his game elevate over the past year, and is now on the national landscape. Walker comes in as the #10 SF in the 2025 class, and the top sophomore in the state of Kentucky. On why his game has elevated Walker says “I would say my determination to get to the next level, but I’d really have to give credit to the people who invest their time with me too. My dad and the coaching staff at my high school, my strength and agility coach Jordan Nevels, and skills trainer Lance DeZee.”
With that determination and hard work, the recruiting process has expedited for E.J. as well. Walker says “I’m enjoying the process and learning a lot. I’ve tried to put more focus on building good relationships so when it comes down to deciding I can trust my journey to make a solid decision with the best fit.”
So far in the process E.J. has offers from Youngstown State, Duquesne, NKU, Toledo, Ohio U, Stoney Brook, West Virginia, Purdue, Xavier, Dayton, Minnesota and is getting interest from Michigan State, Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, LSU, Penn State, and Louisville. When it comes to upcoming visits the 6’8 220 lbs. wing who travels with Brad Beal Elite on the summer circuit says “I hope to get to LSU, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Virginia. I am also looking forward to getting back to the ones I’ve already visited.”
With his high school season just around the corner, Walker has some games marked on his schedule those are Cov(ington) Catholic, Cooper, Dixie (Heights), nationally ranked and reigning Kentucky state champ GRC (George Rogers Clark), and Dayton (OH) Belmont. As for goals for the upcoming season Walker says “My Goal is to be one of the top teams in the region and state. To win the league, district, and regionals. I want to play with my teammates again at NKU (for the region championship) and then Rupp (Arena, for the state championship).
Lloyd Memorial lost 5 seniors last season, but Walker says the Juggernauts have 4 returners who got solid action last season. “The good thing is we have been putting in a lot of work together this summer, which will lead to good chemistry.”
